How to

Using the Input Source Switcher

Naming input sources on your encoder

In the web interface of your encoder give a label to each input of an event.

Creating an input list

In Boragrid you can enter or edit the list of the inputs labels in Settings / Project Settings / Input Sources.
To get the label and all inputs of an event go to Menu / Tools / Read the list of inputs from a event...

If the list of inputs are not updated, refresh your project (Win: CTRL + R / Mac: CMD + R) and try again.
Select the controller module from which event you want to obtain the list of inputs then click "Select".
Uncheck the inputs you do not want to include in the list.
Choose whether to append to an existing input list or replace it.
Click "Import to input list".
The input source switcher should now display an updated list.

Switching sources inputs

Select a new inpout label then click "Go" to switch the event input source.
Clicking the "Pre" button about 5+ seconds before the "Go" button will generate a faster seamless switching.

Using the Favorites Projects Loader

Favorite projects can be added to the quick load list.
Click the star button to add the current project to the favorites list.
The current project name is used as list label. To change your project name, go to Setting page / Project Settings / General.
Click on the 'load' button to load the selected project.
Shortcuts 'ALT + 1' to 'ALT + 9' can be used to load favorite projects.
Edit the favorites list in the Settings page, go to Setting page / Project Settings / General.

Importing the List of Overlay Images From a Folder

The list of images overlay can be imported from a folder in the encoder or from another folder accessible by Boragrid. See the following example.

Go to Menu / Read a list of images from a folder...

1 - Click the search button and browse to the image folder in the encoder, e.g. 192.168.1.101/server/incoming, then click "Select Folder". If your encoder image folder is not shared, you can select a local folder that contains copies of the images. e.g. D:/images/
2 - Uncheck all images you don't need.
3 - Enter the encoder images folder, e.g. /data/server/incoming/images/
4 - Choose if you want to replace current image list or append to the existing one.
5 - Click "Import to image list".

After that, the list of images will be updated.

The image list can be edited in Settings / Project Settings / Images Overlay.

Inserting Images, Logos and Animation Over the Video

Unlike the web interface of your encoder Boragrid allows you to insert images over the video at any time during your transmission.

Notes

The size of the image cannot be higher than the video resolution; otherwise, an error will occur.
The file has to be an image (PNG or BMP format) or a XML file. Check your encoder manual for further information.
AWS Elemental Motion Graphic Inserter License is required to display MOV files and PNG sequences.
In the web interface of your encoders, in the event configuration tab, the "Image Inserter" option must be "ON" and the "Enable REST Control" option must be checked.

Add images and animations manually to the image List

To add, remove or edit the list of images go to "Settings / Project Settings / Images Overlay".
To add, remove or edit the list of  animations go to "Settings / Project Settings /Motion Images Overlay". To enter a sequence of PNG files, only enter the file name of the first image, for example "logo-anim0000.png".

Read images list from a folder

If your computer has access to the encoder's image storage or if there is a copy of those images in a local folder, you can import the list of images from that folder.
Go to "Menu / Tools / Read a list of images from a folder...".
Click the search button and select image folder, for example "S:\data\server\incoming\images\". Check the images files you want to import.
Choose if you want to append to a existed list or replace the current one.
Click "Import to images list" button.

Inserting imagens and animations

Be sure Boragrid is connected to your encoders and your events are running.
Select a layer and choose an image. Click "In" to inset it or "Out" to remove it.

SCTE-35 Cue Markes Insertions

Note: SCTE-35 Markers insertion feature is only available in the pro version of Boragrid.

For more information about SCTE markrs insertion, see the article Ad insertion with AWS Elemental Live and Boragrid using SCTE-35 markers.

Requesting markers insertions to all controllers modules

At control panel click the Cue-Out button [1] to request a Cue-Out mark insertion to all unlocked controllers.
If you want to append a duration parameter to the mark insertion request, select it from the duration selector [2].
Click the "Cue-In" button [3] to request a Cue-In mark insertion.
Duration values can be edited in Settings / Project Settings / Cue Out Durations.
Splice Offset and Return Offset values can be edited in Settings / Project Settings / General.

Requesting markers insertions to a single controller module

In a running controller module click the "Cue-Out" button[4] to request a Cue-Out mark insertion. If there is a Duration value selected at control panel it will be send as a mark parameter.
For a Cue-In mark request, click the "Cue-In" button[5].
